Description

Hexagon Group are delighted to be working with a highly reputable real estate company who are recruiting an Engineering Manager to manage engineering and energy management for an impressive asset in Central London plus supporting with the wider portfolio. The salary for this role is paying between £60,000 - £65,000 plus a generous benefits package, and the opportunity to work with an experienced property management team.

Our client is dedicated in providing the highest standards when it comes to building management, engineering services and energy management. As the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the engineering and energy aspects for the building. You will be responsible for driving sustainability initiatives, optimising energy efficiency and ensuring seamless delivery of the engineering systems.

The role will take responsibility for developing and implementing comprehensive energy management strategies across the commercial asset, using data analysis and the latest technology to optimise energy consumption, improve building performance and support wider sustainability initiatives. You will lead on the management of the on-site M&E service partner, ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of the building management systems, alongside the mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The role will also support the Asset Management team with the production of service charge budgets and ensure all relevant statutory compliance, regulations and standards are maintained and up to date.

You will also have responsibility for overseeing a range of on-site projects, including M&E replacement programmes, refurbishments, fit-outs and energy efficiency upgrades. This is a varied role that will combine operational engineering management with energy, sustainability, compliance and project delivery, playing a key part in maintaining and improving the overall performance of the asset.

The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical engineering background, ideally supported by an HNC, HND, degree or Masters qualification in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. You will have hands-on engineering experience and a proven track record of managing engineering services within a commercial property or asset, either working for a real estate organisation or an M&E service provider. A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and their day-to-day operation is important, alongside the ability to work closely with contractors, clients and other stakeholders.

An understanding of energy conservation measures, sustainable building practices and smart building technology would be beneficial, as would some exposure to energy and sustainability projects. You will also have a strong customer service focus and be comfortable working within a demanding environment, combining sound technical knowledge with a practical, hands-on and proactive approach.
